Here I am, back again after such a long hiatus…

Today is Sunday and somehow it feels exactly like any other day of the week being in office except that I am in jeans and tees. So much for trying to reduce my work hours… I am way maxing out my overtime leave in no time.

Chinese New Year was a good break but again, I got too many a drink too much and was totally wasted last week. I had way so much drinks on Monday last week that by the time I got home on Tuesday I was so spaced out that I just had to give the smiley’s gathering over at Vivian’s place a miss. She has ever since threaten not to do lunch with me again… : P Come on, Vivian… you can’t be so petty…

So what happened exactly on Monday? First I had like a dozen beers at a friend of my cousin, Genecia (the second MSU runner up or Ms Sg International I hear) before heading down to this hostel, the Haven operated by Steve, an impresario 2005 fellow alumni for more drinks and gambling. The five of us; Lee Teng (yes, the YES 933 and super host guy), Momo (Monica), Cheng xi, Ken, Steve and myself washed down 5 bottles of vodkas, baileys and Jack Daniels over the night that Ken wouldn’t want (or couldn’t) leave the bed and Momo could barely crawl…

I effectively ended spending most of Tuesday sleeping in at home because by the time I sobered up it was three in the afternoon. Can’t remember what I did that night though… was probably cards again or something along the line. Oh yeah… I was actually sober enough to attend a gathering at a secondary school friend, Margaret’s place though I had initially thought it was held the day before and by the time I got down, some of the bunch had left.

Wednesday was when work resumed and the stop of the booze and cards but apparently my relatives decided that we should have more of a work-life balance and came to my place for cards and I was recalled home from work to be a good host though it was only nine in the evening before I got home.

Thursday was a bad day for me. I came strolling into the office at 9.30 only to got a shock when I opened my email to find an email from one of my bosses to churn out something for London to discuss with him by twelve. The email was sent out 5 minutes after I had left office the prior night. Turned out that he, my boss didn’t make it to the office that day and I did manage to get the file to him at 12, midnight though not that he would look at it, and guess what? I was right. Next morning, in five minutes, after looking for some grammar, he had the work ok-ed to send to London…

Friday was more drinks again after work… and the weekends? What weekends? I am sitting here typing away stabbing at the keyboard…

So Denise… any updates on your internship search? Did I send you your amended resume? I really had no idea if I had sent it back to you after all those drink sessions… and I got a whole shopping list to make u run.. :P
