Saw the news of the tsunami that hit the asia pacific regions of Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka on the telly last night and this morning. Sure hope Nunn isn’t affected by it and is safe and sound.

The holidays are finally coming to an end and school will be starting for me in a little under a week’s time be it either SMU or NTU.

Finally received SMU’s email confirmation last night but I guess I am still deliberating over whether or not I should proceed with the exchange because it has not been confirmed that I will definitely get the modules that I want.

I had initially wanted to clear the major finance modules like Fixed Income Securities and Derivatives and Securities but my dismal grades for last semester has forced me to rethink my decisions.

So instead of my initial plans, I hope I will be able to do the modules; Business Communications and Strategic Management over at SMU instead and focus on the remaining Finance core modules to pull up my grades. A strategy that I hope will not backfire…

Went to Sentosa yesterday with my Impresario committee members for a potluck gathering and had another makan session with committee members from YEC. Truly a day to just get fat from all the food…

The sun was great but I guess it was a bit too much, think I should had applied more sun block yesterday but it sure beats seating in an air-conditioned office everyday.

Oh yeah, did I mention that today is the last day of my work? Haha… didn’t expect to finish my task so soon but it sure frees up some time for me to take some break and perhaps do some shopping.
K, enough time wasted. Shall now get back to tying up my stuff and getting ready to knock off! Cheers!

One must step out of his or her present situation and not be too caught in it or he or her might face loosing sight of the long term goal…

This was something I was just telling Wenting about over the msn and it set me thinking. Thinking of how many a times I had lost sight of the long term goal over temptations along the way.

Yeah… I should really put a stop to some of the excessive activities that I have gotten myself into and start thinking of the longer term.

Got my results last week, and I was really quite bothered for a while that my accounting module once again turned out worse than I have expected. Maybe it was because I had done relatively well for the coursework that I feel so bothered or maybe it is because I had found the paper manageable. Well, I did apply for a review of the grade but I guess we will never know, not until the school decide to change their review procedures.

But I was quite glad that I got a B for BF212 though seriously an A was not out of reach considering the level of difficulty for the final paper. But no complaints there, haha… not when half the time during the semester itself I was left in no man’s land most of the time.

This few days otherwise was spent in the office doing mindless data entry stuff and msn-ing. Haha…

Christmas Celebration…
Today was a particularly slack day with most of the permanent staff absent and the few of us temp staffs; Andrew, Daniel, me and Cheryl were like chatting and talking half the time.

Met up with Hanwei, Cheewee, Liqin, Yuetwan and James for dinner at Olio Dome over at Wheelock’s place for a Christmas get together after work, after which we went down to Raffles Swissotel to catch Yanru and her hall’s choir perform.

It was really quite a nice performance by the choir though I could never picture myself as the conductor. Not in ten year’s time….

Down to pacific coffee club we went, after the performance for our gifts exchange session, and it was really very nice gesture of Yuetwan and Hanwei to have spent so much time and effort looking for gifts for the each of us.

For the gift exchange part, it was like a direct exchange of gifts between me and Hanwei, with me getting his doggy door stopper which I really find it cute. Sure hope that he recovers the Body Shop gift that he got for his friend, and that he find his happiness soon. : ) He is really one nice guy, and really deserves a nice girl.

I am sitting at my allocated cubicle as I type away on this entry… really has been awhile since I updated my blog.

Today’s my second day at work as a data entry guy thanks to Ann Marie, and it has really been painful trying to stay awake especially when faced with such monotonous stuff but I sure could do with the cash.

Really hope that the results for the past semester will turn out well though I got absolutely no confidence that I will do well… the course work has been alright but then again I had been really too careless in some of the final papers. Think the only subject that I feel relatively confident about would be International Finance, haha… to now I still can’t believe that they actually included the 28-mark question word for word in the paper.

Got a fright this morning when I tried to check if the results were out, was trying to log into the examination site when up popped a survey which took me a painful 10 minutes to complete before finding out that the results were not out.

I really hope that my application for the local exchange program to SMU would be accepted and that my grades will be good enough such that I do not have to contemplate rejecting the exchange in the event that the application has been accepted.

It would be nice to do one semester away from NTU I guess… and SMU really do have some interesting modules on offer, and I do hope I get the module Investment Banking should I get the exchange.

Well… shall not think so far until the exchange has been approved and results are released. No point doing so anyway.

Also met up with Denise, Chaifong and Huimin over the weekend, and it sure was nice to sit down and have a chat. It must have been a year since I last saw Huimin and Chaifong and they sure have changed quite a bit. Well… who hasn’t?

The next two weeks will be real packed with a slew of activities from Impresario to hall events to YEC events and after which school will soon start.

K~ back to work, and do wish me luck...

Celebrated my 22nd birthday with friends from my first year accounting class; Hanwei, Cheewee, Vivian, Rongming, Liqin and Yuetwan over a simple Thai fare at Lemon Grass just now... and I really appreciated them coming together to celebrate my birthday.

I also ran into Annabelle over at Hereen and time really seemed to have flown by. It seems only yesterday when I was in college or even secondary school, and hey today I am already 22 and in year two of my business bachelor course in NTU.

Today seem to be the only day in this whole week that I have finally taken a break, with the past few days occupied with hall and community centre stuff but I guess it is good to have activities rather than watching movies at home whole day and three cheers and three cheers for piracy...

I cannot imagine how else I will be able to kill time if not for the existence of Bitcomet or P2P programmes like Ares.

Think I really ought to spend some time over the next few days to plan for my modules for next semester and less on movies. It seems like the whole world have already more or less come up with their schedules and time tables and I have like done zilch… Argh
