Tuesday, the day after the rejection email. Seems I won’t get to be an Investment Banker. Yet. Well, there is no time to dwell on it and be miserable but just have to move on I guess but it sure hurts to be dumped at the last round.

Went down to a fashion show at The Tent, Takashimaya thanks to Brenda’s complimentary tixs. Well, the event was kinda dumb; waiting for say 40 mins to catch some girls parading around for 30 mins or so but yeah I guess it was good to be out to take my mind off the rejection.

Went for a swim just now. Pretty nice weather though the sun could have been better. Think I need to get back into the mugging mood and just get done with my two modules due in two weeks and then it will just be bumming till the Europe trip.

Feeling sian but just can’t get into the frame of mind to study…

I just hate waiting… I actually exceeded my own expectations and made it through to the last round of eight candidates or so according to the regional hr manager whom I spoke with on Tuesday but then again it doesn’t matter if you are the fourth or fifth on their pecking order and just fall short.

The past three weeks had been real mad with a flurry of interviews, some of which looking back are really pointless (AXA, for misrepresenting their position and Bloomberg, where you train to be a phone operator for a year, followed by another year of doing helpdesk services).

Another two positions in corporate finance which I was really interested in have also seemingly slipped past my fingers… one for my Chinese capabilities or rather the lack of it, and the other somehow my stomach was growling in protest halfway through the interview… argh…

The only bright spark these two days was having the pretty girl from my class sit down beside me today and the opportunity to chat with her. Yea. That’s all.

Really got to get myself up and psyched up for exam preparations. Damned.

Just back from my interview… a lost cause? Seems so… We shall see how tomorrow…

Well… anyway I have never thought I would have gotten this far, with the bloppers in the first interview followed by the 3.5 hr long assessment test…

Not disheartened. Just tired from having to prepare and prepare for the different rounds of interviews. Well, I supposed nothing good comes easy.

The past week had been pretty eventful… what with all the interviews, Cheewee and Yuet’s birthday celebration and just going out…

We celebrated Cheewee and Yuet’s birthday at Manhattan Fish and Chips over at Plaza Singapura and prior to that there was KTV (which I missed out on doing my equities project) and the arcade… yeah you didn’t hear it wrong, we did blew a small sum on some mindless shooting games.

Finally, this week will see us submitting our final year projects and finally getting a well deserved rest but that would also mean another three weeks before the start of my papers and the end of my NTU life.

Just back from my run and man… does it feel refreshing

Life has now returned to normal with the end of The Analyst competition or has it? There’s still the submission of our final year project in two weeks and examinations in five weeks before the final chapter in my university life comes to a close. It has been a pretty good life with more ups than down I guess but I guess you can’t avoid meeting some people you will always look back at with contempt.

Lbrothers came in with the consolation prize in The Analyst competition but yea like what Chee Wee has mentioned. We may not have won but we have gained three brothers in return, Adrian included – for his support for his mates really deserve admiration. Haha it sure didn’t help we read the judging criteria for the report on the day of the presentation itself but I guess it had been fun.

Retro mama hits town
Presenting at The Analyst competition

Last night went down to Crazy Horse Singapore thanks to Will (one of the foreign exchange students from the US of America who came wakeboarding with us), his friend Stefan and Angela. Was a pretty good and interesting act and normally one would have to shell out $85 to catch it.

This was followed by a night of booze over at the Forbidden City with Will, Stefan, Angela, her friend Evon and a bunch of expatriates who were mates from Insead.

Spent most of today in the free access lab with Han Wei and Chee Wee churning out the presentation material for The Analyst finals

Yea… surprisingly we are through to the finals of The Analyst, a stock analysis competition organized by SMU and sponsored by Kim Eng Securities because the report we submitted was quite brief

Hai… not to forget, there’s also FYP which is due soon…

Having done with The revolving doors of vengeance, I am now halfway through the Korean drama, I am sorry I love you featuring So Ji Sup and Im Soo Jung (as below)

Drool Factor: 4/5
