Today sure has been a long day… Helped out at the ticket booth for convocation ball, attended a Bloomberg online course, met my FYP Tutor, and went for meal with my FYP mates and then salsa at SMU…

BOO… Why has David Ding stepped down as the head of the Banking and finance division…? Why not only after my batch… but perhaps it could actually be for the better that now he has more time for us-his FYP groups who before today has really problems trying to fit in appointments with him because of his hectic schedule.

The ticketing booth for convocation ball went by pretty uneventfully but boy… I will be one of those people wearing the gown probably come next year should I not screw up my remaining modules… I don’t know man if I am even looking forward to graduation now that life seems pretty good the way it is but yeah I am probably just being selfish. Haha it is probably about time I get my butt working to provide for my parents…

K!! looking not too far forward, so what shall I do in the next few weeks…? Hmm I know~!!! I want to paint and redecorate my room!!! Yah I have been saying that probably for years but I am sure I will get it down this holidays!

So much for the pigging out at JB… sure was not worth the savings considering the bout of food poisoning I got yesterday… and it seemed that I was not the only victim. Turned out that Yuetwan and Cheewee got the virus as well and I sure do hope they are recovering…

It sure isn’t a pretty sight having to run to the toilet every now and then because of the runs and to puke… but I sure feel much better after the jab and the medication.

Got financial modeling as my prescribed elective thanks to Cheewee despite his not feeling well as well. Hey dude, if you are reading this, I really owe you one big treat!!! Wouldn’t have troubled you had I known you were sick as well…

Checked out the database Shareworld that Hanwei was telling us about but didn’t really seemed to find anything that is significantly different or better from the other databases we have been through… and Prof Ding has yet to reply. Well it seems like we have hit a snag for now and can just compile the list of directors for the various companies.

Looking forward, it will be another month before school commence and lets hope I can make the most out of this one month yeah!

Sure did got a fright just now as I thought for a moment that I had lost my wallet…lucky that Hanwei still was on the bus and that no one had picked up my wallet which had supposedly fallen onto the ground.

Today’s trip to JB was pretty enjoyable and it was not so much the food or the shopping but rather the company.

Theirs isn’t really much to see actually and the stuff you can get there you probably can get back here in Singapore and there probably cost about the same. Certain stuff like perfume you probably can get it cheaper back here but still I am quite happy I bought two shirts today.

The seafood wasn’t really to die for or say fantastic but sure was value for money. I mean the 6 of us ate like kings but probably only spent like around 140 RM so that works out to be probably about eleven bucks per person and we had durians to finish off the meal.
Man… I sure need to wake up and run tomorrow after today’s meal.

Today was supposed to be the last day of my military service or so I thought… till Major Hatta, my immediate superior told me to help out over the weekend and report to camp on Monday with the naming convention… to wake up at an unearthly hour for yet another day and make my way to the other side of the country…

Well, I guess I can’t really complain not after what a nice boss he has been. I probably have taken more offs for various reasons such as to attend the Bloomberg courses and for subject registration in the past 2 months than in the whole of one year of service at my previous units but let’s just hope that I will be able to go off in the afternoon.

Other than that bombshell, the day was pretty much like any other day this week for us… nothing much of the blue except that salsa classes will be canceled for the night but I did received an email from the subject registration department about the expansion of more slots for financial modeling… well it seems that our complaints about students from the finance major not getting the finance modules did fall on the right ears after all... Now I just hope that I get that slot that I had so wanted so that I can drop my political econs till next semester.

Tomorrow should be an eventful day, shopping and eating across the causeway with Cheewee, Hanwei and the rest of the clique.

JB! Seafood! Here I come!!!

Finally! I will be finishing my national service in two days though I will officially resume civilian life only at the end of July but today sure is a day I want to put behind me.

Today sure isn’t one of my best days. First, Jenny Goh our school coordinator refused my request for early registration while students who went on foreign exchange were allowed and those who failed their modules last semester. It just don’t make sense to me how my situation was in any way different from theirs in that I still have a year two module to clear.

Then came the time to register for the modules… I went to CITS at 12.45 where seats had supposedly been kept for us by Jason’s friends only to found out that no longer were the seats available and as such had to make a dash for library one. Is it all that hard to just pick up the phone and make a call so that the trouble of walking to CITS could have been saved, and imagine if I had came any later I probably would not have gotten any modules!

Then the whole registration thing was a farce. Why do we have to be so sit by the terminals in anticipation of the start of the registration and put our fingers to work, with the people having the fastest fingers coming out triumph.

It just doesn’t make sense having people apply for leave or off to come down to school or stay home just for those 3 minutes or so. Yeah that’s probably how much time the whole thing took. If u log on at say 10 minutes past the start of registration, you probably can just forget about having a decent timetable for the coming semester.

HELLO!~ NTU!!! Wake Up! Can you change the system to something like that of SMU or NUS’s where people priorities the modules they want by the credits that they are allocated?

#@$#$%!

Today definitely has not been one of my best day… was real late for camp [lucky my unit’s not too big on timeliness], late for Bloomberg and getting off at the wrong train stop…but hey I shouldn’t be complaining all that much now that Prof Chrsitina [the Vide Dean] and Geraldine has agreed to send us overseas for the case competitions if we can secure the invites.

Was flew an aeroplane by this guy from my unit who was supposed to give me a lift. I mean I am pretty ok with making my way to camp but man… at least do have the courtesy to let me know if you are not going so at least I can make alternative arrangements… as a result I ended up reaching camp at around 8.30 am.

Three hours flew by relatively quickly and soon I was preparing to go off for my I003 or charting course at Bloomberg, however was held up in camp as the orderly room took quite some time to have my clearance form printed due to some technical fault with the computer and the printed.

Arrived at the charting course half an hour late [alighting at the wrong stop contributed partly to my being late as well] only to find the course ending 30 minutes earlier. So effectively I traveled over an hour for that 30 minutes.

From then on, things finally picked up with Qianyi, Kunming and myself meeting in Orchard library for our business plan competition discussion and me joining Eugene, Jason, iris and Ying Shen for dinner with Prof Christina and Geraldine after that.

Man… this holidays looks packed! Anyway… one more week or so to leave clearance!

Finally met up with Houng last night and yeah she was captivating, well traveled and very confident of herself.

We had dinner over at Black Angus [the steak place that is opposite Orchard Towers] and everything went pretty well with me finding out more about her. Turned out that she was from Norway of Vietnamese descent having moved to Europe at a young age and has traveled to over 20 countries... and is now looking at working in Singapore despite her strong views with regards to the government here.

We met one of my long time friends subsequently, and she sort of confirmed what I have probably guessed all along that my friend is gay. No… I don’t feel any different in any way even after she brought up the topic and all that I want as a friend is for him to find happiness, regardless of whom he is or is with.

I thought the night would end well with her joining us for Mah Jong over at Brenda’s. The night did end up with Mah Jong but without Houng that is. I shouldn’t have assumed that the rest would be ok with me inviting a friend and well it ended pretty bizarrely with Brenda spinning a tale about jasper being hospitalized, and it definitely was in no way convincing. It definitely has to be up there as one of the more dramatic moments that I have encountered.

I couldn’t have pulled out from the game because then they would be one player short… I should have just arranged for dinner to have been tonight instead… but well… what’s done is done so well let’s just hope everything goes fine from here and that she will find the job that she is so looking for.

A tiring and long day it has been… was up since something like 5.30 in the morning because couldn’t catch a ride from Kelvin [so much for the I didn’t get your message but well it’s just 2 more weeks to go] and the day ended only like eleven because of the supper session after salsa with Hana, Eric and the rest…

Camp was pretty uneventful as it is for most days, and today I brought up to my immediate superior, Maj Hata that I will soon be leaving and hinted that I sure could do with a testimonial which probably will be written by Kevin as he has so said himself.

Today also see me finally surrendering my pink IC , that last trace of my civilian life… for a temp military IC or 15A as they call it… I want my pink IC!!!! And to think I was jesting about not having my 11B a few weeks ago.

Today I also finally fixed with Hong to have coffee over the weekend, a long time since meeting her at Zouk… Hmm that was before my Taiwan trip which was like a month back. This sat should also see me play mahjong with Brenda, Ann and Jesper over at Brenda’s. Man! I so do look forward to the weekend!

I must be mad… for forming a team with Qianyi, Kunming, Peiru, myself and probably the A*star guy whom we met at the Sife competition to take on the coming Ideas to Patents competition by Exploit Technologies, The Nanyang Technopreneur Centre Business Plan Competition [BPC], The SMU Lee Kuan Yew and perhaps the NUS Celebration BPC… so much for my mugging plans come next semester…

Was talking to Qianyi over MSN last night when we moved into the topic regarding last year’s NTC BPC, which we didn’t made it to the finals… and before you could count to ten we had a team for this year’s one and was soon discussing about the other competitions. Hopefully the preparation this time round will not be as taxing since we are probably going to use the materials that Kunming, Peiru and myself had researched on for the Sife competition.

Looking ahead I got something like 13 more of work days which translates into something like 2 and a half weeks to the start of my leave clearance… Endure I must!!!

Yesh~ we have won Synergy 2005! Pride and Glory!!! I could do with some monetary incentives though…: P but then again $200 of kinokunia vouchers aint that bad too afterall.

It sure has been a hell of a week for Peiru, Kunming and myself. In fact, last night we only hit the pillows [I mean the couch in hall 13’s TV lounge for Kunming and myself] at something like 3.45 in the morning before we were awaken by the probing of the security guard at 5.45! So much about getting enough rest for the big presentation…

Eventually we managed to pull and drag ourselves somehow to canteen A where we had our last rehearsals, not that we had that many to begin with.

It was pretty lucky for us that the first group who was doing the same technology as us addressed some of the more technical issues which we had not covered and that the rest of the groups had not really touched on the implementation of their plans for the patent and the financials that are involved.

It sure feels nice to have people coming up to you to tell you that they enjoyed your presentation and that they found it to interesting though I think I still need lots of practice. Lucky for me that our presentation went smoothly in front of Prof Soh who happened to be one of the judges for the event or my credibility in pushing for members of the case club to be considered for overseas representation would have been greatly discounted.

Now that the competition is over, I can finally look at some rest after the pumpfeast tomorrow. Really will have to assess the activities I am going to join next year…

The past four weeks of working with Kunming and Peiru had really been fun though the last week was really mad as we tried to squeeze out time from DIP and army to complete the research and presentation materials. Really do hope that I will have another chance to work with the two of them.

I am so bored…. And it is not as if I have nothing to do on hand [what with the Sife patent commercialization competition, the case club and union orientation camp], just that there’s not much I can do now that I am back in camp…

It sure is high time that SAF looks into upgrading some of their systems and software!!! The past few days had been pretty mad, seeing me return home well past midnight because of the Sife competition as well as a Mahjong session over at Brenda’s place on Sunday and I foresee the same for the next few days.

Some times I really wonder if it is a good or a bad thing that I have so many things on hand… if I have nothing on hand I probably will be complaining of boredom and I complain when I have too much things on hand.

Really glad that most of my friends that reasonably well this time, and Hanwei and Cheewee ought to be in the dean’s list this year for the effort that they have put in… Hai… I can only try to pull up my socks come next semester and hope to do well for the remaining of my modules since the modules that I have taken this semester in SMU won’t count.

Arghh.. I want to Ord!!! I don’t wanna be in camp no more!
