Sunday now. Quite a nice feeling actually to be able to sit by your laptop on a Sunday evening and not have to worry about work the next day.

Thinking back now, I feel kinda bad being in such a bad mood most of last week in office. The braces and what ever was going around that week shouldn't be an excuse to just remain sullen.

The party wasn't bad but wasn't exactly alot to shout about with only about 7-8 of us from CF turning up and for my team, just myself. Still it was nice catching up with JJ, Cecelia, David Ng, Jason Yong and the rest of the department.

Quite a sian day.

Call me a cynic but I honestly do not understand the motivations of people applying to corporate finance if they are not ready for the kind of hours. Why bother transfering to corporate finance if all they want to do are to sit around in office and erm read their own materials. The market must be that hot that almost everyone who applies will probably gets a job in CF if he or she applies whatever their motivations are. Anyway, think I will just heed HP's advise and watch my back in case anyway.

Last week was a good week. Not much of work after coming back from a long break. The JPMorgan run was good too though I didnt really run well that day, only managing to come in with a time of about 25.50.

My legs did really hurt after the run though. I guess age is catching up with me liao finally... or that I have simply been not running enough.

KPMG actually won the logo design contest but to be fair, the other companies' logos were really plain in comparison. See the logo below. Its meant to be pixalated I supposed. Was also apparently caught on pic by the KPMG photographer though the pic is just as grainy.

Hmmm... think I have been complaining too much of late that I forgot to congraulate you Denise for landing your intern with Barclays Private Banking!

Though not with the investment bank or with the research, I think its a fantastic addition to your resume girl!! Your exams are coming too right? All the best for your revisions and projects!!

I better start getting into the mode for revision too myself. Speaking of which, I think I will prob try to squeeze in 30 mins or so before bedtime for it since i have erm.. have completed like 1% so far of the reading materials...

Not exactly in the best of moods... The dental brackets still hurts (I don't even want to think about the extraction and the rest of the brackets that are due this week), a wasted sat and the CFA that's due in like 5 weeks or so. Damned. Tell me there's a rainbow after all this.

Finally the project is coming to an end...

It's been about a month since the preparation for the project began and its been a really tiring month. Tomorrow's an off day. At least till 930 in the evening when we are to have the conference call with the engaging parties and I sure will be sleeping in till late.

I wouldn't mind another one or two of projects like this just that the organizing could really have been better and a lot of unneccessary work could have been avoided. Well. Its good learning anyway.

I sure am looking forward to the break in May so I can finally start hitting my CFA books. Till then...

Pardon my languagebut I am just so absofuckinglutely shag and worn out from 10 straight days of shit from the Laos and Cambodia proj.

The project is moving in such a haphazard manner and things happen at the lars minute (punt intended) that it just tires you out but to be fair, it had been an interesting trip but yeah I am tired. So tired.

Here's the chain of event leading to yesterday's arrival back in tiny lil'red dot in the afternoon and spending the day or what was remained of it and the night in office till 5 in the morning.

24th March: Prep work, full day gone
25th March: Flight to Thailand, transit, flight to Cambodia
26th March: Meeting, meeting, work, work

.
28th March: Supposed to fly to Thailand, transit and on to Laos. Missed Flight.
29th March: Reached Thailand (9pm). Hotel (11pm). Roam the streets till 3.30 am
30th March: Fucking shag day. Work. Work. More work.
31st March: Quick tour of the market. Work. Work. More work.
1st April: Work.

.
2nd April: left hotel (8am). reached BKK (10am), Flight (Noon), arrival in SG (4pm), office (4.30pm), Finally home (4.30am).

Now you see why i am absofuckinlutely tired... and after today's conference call, it seems more shit is coming...

just got back and damned... I am really shag.

Oh I was saying... On Friday, I met up with Fiona, my ex colleague from my post JC, pre army days working at Citibank and her friend Jacq for lunch. Good to see that she is doing well now in her work at DBS. Ain't it just nice to hear that your friends are doing well. Good that she brought along her pretty friend too.

That night was the going away drinks for Jamesy, my manager from KP and boy, was it another mad drinking session. Somehow I seem to have became the R&R guy for the team, if not for the department. Good thing though, I have all the numbers for the various clubs and now know which clubs requires a minimum expenditure for the reservation of seats.

I will post the pics when I find the cable for my phone. Ain't know where I put it now.

Hmm coming back to the going away drinks session. The turnout was just great but it probably have got to do with the man, Jamesy than for my planning and coordination but yea, by far it is probably one of the largest turnout for any of our drinking sessions. Shilong, Wei quan, Shiqi and their friends turned up at the event as well and hmm guess what? Shiqi's JC friend's my bahasa indo class mate who happened to be in the articule my mom passed me to read this morning (not that I read it... erm its in chinese). Small world huh...

The weekend's been good so far; that is if you discount today which seems pretty much like any other workday.

Saturday
Got a call from Jason last night when I was out with the Wakeboarders and learnt that he's now heading for Deutsche and man, am I glad for him. Finally he will be getting an ibank pay for doing ibank work. Hmmm now where does that leave me? Damned. Just got to be patient I guess.

It was pretty good catching up with the wakeboarders and it must have been at least half a year since I last caught up with Jolin. We should really do these meet ups more frequently.

Argh… I feel terrible… down with the flu and fever… but well… it means a day off tomorrow not that I am complaining about the work load this week. Perhaps, this is what they call the quiet before the storm.

Yesterday was another early day too as the result of the two Sumatra earthquakes that occurred just before and after lunch. I wouldn’t have mind staying back if not for the fact that everyone else had packed and was all ready to go 10 minutes after the email from the risk management department came in. In the email, we were advised to work at the client’s place, from home or to simply just take the afternoon off. Damned! These earthquakes should occur more frequently (not that I am hoping for casualties k)

Think I will just spend tomorrow home reading up on the telecoms sector and getting some rest. The doctor today actually asked if I was too stressed…. And by the way, he was so gay…

Time for bed… I am a sick man after all
